Trainer Bio: Marie Louise Heffernan has 25 years experience as an Ecologist she has been living in Connemara beside the sea since 1998. During that time she has identified, cooked, and eaten the seaweeds on the shore. She has a deep interest in the marine, a passion for seaweeds and shores of Connemara.
Course Delivery: Pre-recorded
Learning Objectives: This short course is designed to help you forage for seaweeds.
The course will:
1. Give you the tools to find and correctly identify seaweed on the shore.
2. Understand where seaweeds are found relative to tides and geomorphology of the shore.
3. Teach you how to harvest sustainably and safely.
4. Teach you the basics of how to prepare and eat seaweeds.
